The Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos, known as "Hamatoura" or "the mountain of fervor," is perched 450 meters above sea level in the Sacred Qadisha Valley, between Kousba and Ras Kifa in Lebanon. 

Once a center for pagan worship, monks transformed it into a monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary. After falling into ruins post-World War I, it was restored in 1994 by Archimandrite Panteleimon.

The monastery, accessible via a challenging hike, is the oldest in the area, known for its rich monastic tradition and scenic location.
